Bedrock Principles & Platforms
The ancient Egyptians created some of the most enduring objects of all time.
From obelisks to pyramids, their incredible engineering and planning still stand today, some 3500 years later!
How are these structures still standing? Is it by chance, or perhaps the work of supremely skilled individuals? As masters of preparation and preservation, many great lessons can be learned from their great civilization, but for now, I want to focus on preservation.
Just as they were extremely selective and particular with the materials they chose to construct with, we too should be selective with our choice of bedrock beliefs. From this bedrock, we extract and build our preserving principles and an action-pad platform.
As an example, my preserving principles are virtuous states of being, such as Humility, Kindness, Patience, Temperance, Diligence, Charity, and Chastity.
For my platform, I think of actions, such as to Love, Sacrifice, Serve, and Forgive.
Conclusion: Be selective of what your bedrock beliefs are made of. From them, we make our preserving principles. On top of that, we build our action-pad platform where we interact with each other and the world.
